Dear friends and family,
I did it!!! After nine weeks and 3,029 miles of riding from San Diego to Charleston,
I was able to touch my front wheel in the Atlantic Ocean and raise my bike victoriously
over my head! My whole family was there to celebrate, shed tears of joy, and
thank God for keeping me safe while completing my dream of riding coast to coast.
The ride was an incredible physical and mental challenge, as well as a spiritual
journey. I met so many interesting people and saw some of the most beautiful
scenery. Most importantly though, I came to realize our country’s greatest
asset – the kind people who would go out of their way to help and support
you.
There are so many stories that I could tell of the ride and I plan on doing
that in a future book. For now, please visit the excellent website that was
created by my friend, Ilan Eframian, which has hundreds of pictures, experiences
from the ride, newspaper articles, sponsor information and a lot more. The site
is www.kjstour.com It will continue to
be updated over the next few weeks, so check back often.
So far, I have received sponsorships of $7,000 toward my goal of $10,000 for
the American Cancer Society. All of this money will be used to fund Cancer research.
I thank you for the support you have provided or will be providing. Your donation
is of course tax deductible.
Many people have already been asking, “Where do I send the check?”
Please send your check written out to the American Cancer Society to my sister’s
address:
Sherene Mitchell
7615 Foxchase Drive
Hamilton, OH 45011
Be sure to include KJS Tour in the memo area. If you need to know your sponsored
amount, email me at kjstour@aol.com
If you haven’t sponsored yet, it’s not too late. Please send your
check along with a note which contains your email address and name(s) of individuals
that you want the ride to have been in memory of or in support of. Thank you
for helping make the ride a success!!!
God Bless,
